What are points, and why do I care?
Playing bridge for points adds an extra layer of excitement because you get to see your progress over time and celebrate small milestones as you improve. Duplicate bridge uses a fair scoring system that compares your results to others playing the same hands, so the game becomes about skill rather than luck.
Players are also grouped with others at similar experience levels using a system called strats, which keeps the competition friendly and balanced. Many people discover that playing for points makes bridge more social and rewarding because you become part of a wider community that shares your goals and encourages your growth.
