Getting.Older

D25's very own Michelle Green is featured this week on the PBS show "getting dot OLDER" episode "Playing Cards". The episode can be found on Boston's WGBH-44 this Sunday, October 15th, at 4:00pm. If you live outside the Boston area, please check local listings for your PBS station broadcast times.

Warwick Regional Video Blog

Weiss-Bertoni Award Winner

The winner of the first ever Weiss-Bertoni award is Joe Brouillard of the Rhode Island Bridge Association. The new award, which is the successor to the Larry Weiss Award, was designed to recognize an exceptional bridge player in New England. The inscription on the trophy reads, "Bridge with Grace, Face-to-Face."

Passing the Individual Torch

Region 2 Director, Mark Aquino, who had been taking good care of the William Keohane Individual Trophy for the past 5 years passes the baton at the D25 Nashua Regional to 2005 Individual Winner, Randolf ("Randy) Johnson of Bluffton, SC and Hadley, MA.

Double Dummy

Double Dummy is a documentary film, featuring a team of Americans playing in the junior world championships of bridge. It’s now freely streamable here and on the PBS App. The cast includes recent ACBL Player of the Year winner Zach Grossack, and three former Kings of Bridge.

Some high school classmates started asking for bridge lessons, after having watched Double Dummy. Now, one of them already has over 1,000 Bridge Base Online logins, in a little over a year!

UPDATE: We recently heard that from WGBH/Boston that DOUBLE DUMMY will air on WGBH2 (the main channel) on Thursday 7/6 at 9:00 pm EST. It will also have a handful of repeats across both channels GBH2 and 44 during that week!
